Thornbury has a thriving community with strong family values and we at First Step Pre-School, as part of this community, firmly believe in providing the best possible start for children in aiding their journey into education.

We are constantly striving to offer children the best possible start in life, helping them on their way to enjoy a lifelong enjoyment of learning. 

First Step is a non-profit organisation (a pre-school) which rely on the nursery education grants provided. This, with the relatively small chargeable income for under 3’s, families who use more than the current government funded 15 hours and importantly the money we raise as a charitable organisation through our dedicated committee and parents is how we survive. This allows the Preschool setting to operate safely, profitably and successfully.

What these funds can’t do, is provide us with a new building that we so desperately need in order for us to continue to provide the high standards that we set as a preschool and in meeting the needs of the local community. 

Like many other pre-schools we rely on the low cost facilities provided by other opportunities such as fund raising. It’s the building we currently occupy which we need help in improving.

This proposal sets out our vision to have the very best accommodation to facilitate the highest level of learning and development we offer. Though our expectations are high they are not without reason. 

First Step Pre-school have a plan to build an exemplar new building that can offer the best possible start in life for 2-5 year olds. For this we are seeking funding to allow us to cover the construction costs
